Togo Education System Overview

The Togolese education system follows a structure similar to the French system, with pre-primary, primary, secondary, and higher education levels. Primary education is free and compulsory, starting at age 6 and lasting for six years. Lower secondary education lasts four years, followed by three years of upper secondary education.

The Baccalauréat examination marks the completion of secondary education. While the specific subjects for the A4, C, and D series are not readily available, reforms to the secondary education curriculum have been implemented, particularly in the Terminale level, affecting subjects like History-Geography.

Togo has been working to improve access to educational resources, including textbooks and teaching aids. More information about the Togolese education system can be found through the Ministry of Education or the Global Partnership for Education.
