Tunisia 3rd Grade Curriculum - Arabic Language

The Tunisian education system places a strong emphasis on Arabic language and literature, starting from the primary level. In 3rd grade, Arabic is a core subject, taught for 10 hours per week. The curriculum focuses on developing reading and writing skills, along with comprehension and vocabulary building. Students are also introduced to basic grammar concepts. Assessment is conducted throughout the year, including oral, written, and practical tests. Progress to the next grade level depends on achieving a cumulative average of 50% or higher across all subjects, including Arabic.

While French is introduced as a foreign language in 3rd grade (9 hours per week), Arabic remains the primary language of instruction for all other subjects. This includes Islamic studies (2 hours per week), mathematics (4 hours per week), and science (1.5 hours per week). Other subjects like music, art, technical education, and physical education are also included in the curriculum.
