Turkmenistan History Overview

Turkmenistan's history is long and complex, dating back to ancient times. Early inhabitants included Indo-European Iranian tribes around 2000 BC. The region was part of various empires, including the Persian Achaemenian empire in the 6th century BC. Turkmenistan was later influenced by Alexander the Great and became a significant part of the Silk Road. More recently, Turkmenistan was part of the Soviet Union, declaring independence on October 27, 1991.

Turkmenistan Education System

Turkmenistan's education system has undergone changes throughout its history. Education is free, compulsory, and universal through the 12th grade. A 12-year secondary education program was introduced in 2012 and implemented starting in the 2013/2014 academic year. The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan oversees the education system. While specific details about the 7th-grade history curriculum are not readily available, general resources on Turkmenistan's history can provide context.
