Turkmenistan 9th Grade Curriculum (Bilim - Upper Basic)
The Turkmenistan education system mandates ten years of compulsory education, starting from age six and continuing until sixteen. This ten-year period is divided into primary and secondary education. The secondary phase, known as Bilim (Upper Basic), encompasses grades 4-9. Within the Bilim program, the 9th grade curriculum emphasizes humanities subjects.
Curriculum:
The 9th-grade curriculum centers around humanities subjects, with a strong emphasis on native language (Turkmen) and literature, history, physics, mathematics, chemistry, foreign language, world cultures, and physical education. Turkmen or Russian language instruction is provided. A limited number of elective subjects are also available.
Textbooks:
A "Türkmen dili" textbook is specifically designed for 9th-grade students receiving instruction in Russian.
Language of Instruction:
While Turkmen is the primary language of instruction in most schools, Russian is also offered. Russian is commonly used in various aspects of life in Turkmenistan, including political, administrative, and economic spheres. |
