Tuvalu Geography
Tuvalu is a Polynesian island nation located in the Pacific Ocean, midway between Hawaii and Australia. It consists of nine small, low-lying coral atolls and reef islands with a total land area of approximately 26 square kilometers. The highest point is only five meters above sea level. The country's capital is Vaiaku, located on Funafuti Atoll. Tuvalu's nearest neighbors are Kiribati, Nauru, Samoa, and Fiji. |
