UAE Grade 12 Electives
The UAE's Ministry of Education introduced an elective subject model for Grade 11 and 12 students in public and private schools following its curriculum. This model allows students to choose subjects aligned with their interests and future career paths. Computing
Computing education is mandatory in primary and secondary schools across the UAE. Feb 21, 2024 The Ministry of Education has established Computer Science and Technology Standards for K-12. A Computer Science Test is a requirement for teachers seeking a Professional teacher's license in this subject. Advanced Computer Science (CS2) is offered at the Grade 12 level. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the K-12 computing curriculum is also being explored.
Creative Design and Innovation
The Creative Design and Innovation (CCDI) curriculum was developed in 2019. Feb 21, 2024 This elective aims to foster creativity, innovation, and design thinking skills. The UAE has a comprehensive plan to develop its innovation ecosystem, extending into seven key economic areas. AI is also being integrated into this curriculum.
Health Sciences
A new Physical and Health Education Curriculum has been implemented across all grades, from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Jan 30, 2017 This curriculum covers a wide range of physical health topics. End-of-term exams for Health Sciences are administered in grades 5-12. May 11, 2023 School health education programs have been implemented, with Grade 12 content covering the health of young women and first aid skills.
Arts
Arts education is included within the broader K-12 curriculum, covering areas such as art, music, and dance. The Thanawiya al Amma examinations in Grade 12 allow students to apply for admission to federal universities within the UAE. |
