Uganda Senior Six Literature in English

This course delves into a wide range of literary works, fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and creative expression. The curriculum emphasizes understanding literary techniques and their application in different genres, including poetry, drama, prose, and oral literature. Students are encouraged to develop their own interpretations and responses to literature, supported by evidence from the texts. Active learning approaches, such as discussions, performances, and creative writing, are integral to the course.

Syllabus

The Uganda Senior Six Literature in English syllabus is designed to develop a holistic understanding of literature, encompassing knowledge, application, and behavioral change. The curriculum focuses on four key learning outcomes: self-assured individuals, responsible and patriotic citizens, lifelong learners, and positive contributors to society. These outcomes are achieved through the study of various literary genres and the development of generic skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, communication, cooperation, and ICT proficiency. The syllabus also emphasizes the importance of values such as respect, honesty, justice, hard work, integrity, and social responsibility.
