Uganda Senior Two (S2) Curriculum - ICT
The Uganda Senior Two (S2) ICT curriculum is part of the revised Lower Secondary Curriculum. The curriculum aims to equip students with basic ICT literacy skills, using ICT as a learning tool across different subjects, and preparing them for practical application of ICT in various fields.
Curriculum and Assessment
The S2 ICT curriculum is based on the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) syllabus. Instructional textbooks guide classroom teaching and learning activities. Assessment of the curriculum involves collecting information for evaluation. Sample assessment items and guidance for developing end-of-year assessments are available.
Learning Resources
Various learning resources are available for the S2 ICT curriculum, including learners' books aligned with the NCDC syllabus, computer studies notes, and past papers. Additional resources can be found on platforms like Sharebility Uganda.
Implementation Challenges
Implementation of the revised lower secondary curriculum, including ICT, has faced some challenges. A shortage of computers in some schools has hindered effective teaching of the ICT syllabus. A study explored teachers' perceptions of implementing the competency-based curriculum in lower secondary schools, highlighting emerging issues and coping strategies. |
