Ukraine 10th Grade Computer Science (Standard Level)
Informatics Curriculum Overview
The Ukrainian 10th-grade informatics curriculum has undergone updates in recent years, with a significant development being the "Updated Informatics – IT Studios" pilot project. This EU-funded initiative, launched in September 2022, aims to modernize computer science education and better prepare students for the tech world. The project involves updated educational resources and a shift towards practical application of IT skills. Over 3,000 students and 70 teachers from 50 schools participated in the pilot phase. The project has shown positive results in digitalizing the educational process.
A key aspect of the updated curriculum is the move beyond basic computer skills to encompass areas like cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Materials for the updated program are available on the Diia.Education platform.
In addition to the "IT Studios" project, new curricula for 10th and 11th grades were introduced, with guidelines for curriculum development at the institutional level. These guidelines emphasize flexibility in program planning, allowing for specialized subjects and optional courses.
Furthermore, a mini-course on Artificial Intelligence has been developed for 10th and 11th-grade students, available on the "Learning passport" platform. This reflects the growing importance of AI in the field of informatics. |
