Language Content Scope:

  • Introduction: Importance of language in human and social life. Ukrainian as the official language of Ukraine. Repetition of material studied in primary school.
  • Text, Sentence, Word.
  • Lexicology: Groups of words by meaning: synonyms, antonyms, homonyms, and paronyms.
  • Word structure. Orthography.
  • Phonetics, Writing system, Orthoepy, Orthography: Speech sounds, representation of speech sounds in writing, syllable, stress, pronunciation of consonants, the most common cases of alternating vowels and consonants.
  • Syntax and Punctuation: Phrases, sentence and its grammatical structure, secondary parts of the sentence, sentences with homogeneous parts, vocative, parentheses and word combinations, compound and complex sentences, direct speech, dialogue.
  • Repetition and summary of studied material at the end of the year.
