Ukraine Foreign Language Curriculum (Secondary Education)
General Information:
Foreign language education is a compulsory component of secondary education in Ukraine. While the term "6th Form" is not used in the Ukrainian education system, the equivalent level is typically within gymnasium (grades 5-9) or lyceum (grades 10-12). Ukrainian is the primary language of instruction in most schools.
Curriculum:
The core curriculum for secondary education includes Ukrainian language and literature, a foreign language, history, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, physical education, music, and art.
Foreign Languages Offered:
English is the most commonly studied foreign language. Other languages offered include German, French, Spanish, Polish, and over 25 additional languages. Students may have the option to study multiple foreign languages.
Assessment:
Students undergo a series of standardized tests throughout secondary education, culminating in final examinations covering various subjects, including foreign languages.
