GCSE Art and Design
GCSE Art and Design is a subject that allows students to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills. The course is assessed through two main components: a portfolio and an externally set assignment. Several exam boards offer GCSE Art and Design qualifications, including AQA, OCR, Edexcel, Eduqas, and WJEC.
Coursework
- Portfolio (60%): The portfolio comprises a collection of student work demonstrating a range of skills and techniques developed throughout the course.
- Externally Set Assignment (40%): In January of Year 11, exam boards release a set of themes or starting points. Students choose one and develop a project, culminating in a final piece completed under supervised conditions.
