Uruguay Bachillerato Artístico
The Bachillerato Artístico in Uruguay provides students with a pre-university education focused on the arts. A reform of the Bachillerato system began implementation in 2023, affecting the structure and curriculum. The reform, part of the "Plan para la Educación Media Superior 2023", aims to modernize the curriculum and better prepare students for further studies. The changes were implemented starting in March 2024 for the first year of Bachillerato.
Curriculum
The Bachillerato Artístico curriculum includes both core subjects and specialized art subjects. While the exact composition of subjects may vary between institutions and under the new reform, some common subjects include:
- Core Subjects: Literature, Philosophy, English, Social and Economic Studies, and Citizenship Education.
- Art Subjects: Visual Arts, Music, Theater, Dance, History of Art, Film, and Plastic Arts and Drawing.
The 2023 reform introduced changes to the curriculum, including the addition of subjects like Administration and Entrepreneurship in the General orientation, and modifications to the Art and Expression orientation, such as the removal of History of Art.
