Uzbekistan Art - Grade 8 Curriculum

Central Asian Arts and Crafts:

This unit delves into the rich artistic traditions of Central Asia, focusing on Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan. Students learn about the unique characteristics of each country's art and crafts. A key area of study is the textile arts of these nations, including traditional techniques and cultural significance. Students may also explore the design, form, and spirit of artifacts and objects from the region.

Uzbekistan Arts and Crafts:

This unit provides a detailed study of Uzbekistan's artistic heritage. Students learn about various art forms, including ceramics, textiles, and metalwork. Emphasis is placed on the cultural and historical context of these art forms. For example, students may learn about the famous ceramics of Rishtan. Students may also create their own artwork inspired by Uzbek traditions.
