Vietnam Grade 1 School Subjects - Moral Education

Moral Education is a compulsory subject taught in Grade 1 in Vietnam. It focuses on character and personality building. The curriculum is centrally designed by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). While the specific learning objectives are not readily available online, the MOET approves textbooks for use in schools. In 2024, the approved Ethics textbooks were announced. This suggests a structured curriculum exists, even though its detailed content is not publicly accessible. Moral education is often taught alongside other core subjects like Vietnamese, Mathematics, Natural and Social Sciences, Arts, and Physical Education. It is influenced by Confucianism and Communism, emphasizing social harmony and community values. Critical thinking skills are also incorporated into Moral Education classes.
