Vietnam Grade 10 Curriculum - Experiential Activities and Career Guidance
Experiential Activities:
Experiential activities are a key part of the Vietnam Grade 10 curriculum. These activities are directed, designed, and guided by educators. One study highlighted the prevalence of experiential activities in secondary schools in the Northern mountainous region of Vietnam. Another study focused on designing and organizing experience-based learning in schools. Resources for teaching experiential activities, specifically for Grade 1, have also been developed.
Career Guidance:
Career guidance is another important aspect of the Vietnam Grade 10 curriculum. The 2018 General Education Program introduced changes to career guidance, requiring students to choose subject combinations from Grade 10 onwards. Career counseling is particularly important for 12th graders as they prepare for graduation exams. VVOB in Vietnam has a Career Guidance program that provides materials and training nationwide. Revised career orientation materials are available for teachers of Grades 10, 11, and 12. Field trips are also used for early career guidance. Vinschool held a Career Guidance Workshop in September 2024 to help students explore and plan their future. In March 2024, Vinsers in Grade 10 at Imperia High School received career guidance at Career Day. VAS also offers a Career Guidance Programme for secondary students, particularly those in Grades 8-12.
2018 General Education Program:
The 2018 General Education Program has significantly impacted the Grade 10 curriculum. It includes compulsory subjects and activities such as Literature, Mathematics, a Foreign Language, Physical Education, National Defense and Security Education, experiential activities, career orientation, local education, and history. Vinschool implemented the 2018 General Education Program for Grade 10 with flexibility and openness. The program aims to create changes in education and provide students with necessary skills for the future. Experiencing career guidance is a compulsory educational activity under this program. |
