Vietnam Grade 10 National Defense and Security Education

This course provides students with foundational knowledge of national defense and security principles and practices. The curriculum is structured into five main topics, covering both theoretical understanding and practical skills.

Curriculum Topics:

1. General Understanding of National Defense and Security: This topic covers the history and traditions of the Vietnamese people's armed forces, basic legal contents related to national defense and security, the harmful effects of narcotic substances, traffic safety laws, national security protection, cybersecurity, territorial integrity, social evils prevention, environmental protection laws, weapons management, military service law, the organization of the Vietnam People's Army and Public Security, enrollment and training in military and public security schools, and strategies against hostile forces.

2. Squad Command: This topic introduces the Military Management Command and the People's Public Security Command, individual formations without weapons, and squad formations.

3. Infantry Combat Techniques: This topic covers basic infantry weapons, explosives, and obstacles, including grenade-throwing and AK submachine gun firing techniques, and armed running.

4. Infantry Tactics: This topic focuses on basic combat postures and movements, utilizing terrain and objects for advantage, observation and communication skills, orientation and navigation, and applying combat skills in various situations.

5. Civil Defense and Civilian Air Defense: This topic covers precautions against various threats like bombs, mines, chemical and biological weapons, natural disasters, epidemics, and fire explosions. It also includes first aid, casualty transportation, and basic knowledge of civilian air defense.

Required Outcomes:

By the end of Grade 10, students are expected to demonstrate understanding and skills related to the above topics. This includes describing historical and legal aspects of national defense and security, analyzing the impact of social issues, applying practical skills like first aid and combat movements, and understanding the principles of civil defense.
