Specific Competencies:

The Grade 4 History and Geography curriculum aims to develop specific competencies in students, categorized into three components:

  • Scientific Cognition: Students should be able to describe geographical phenomena and historical events within spatial-temporal contexts. They should also be able to present key features of local, regional, national, and world history and geography, and explain human interaction with nature.
  • Exploration: Students are expected to conduct simple investigations using various resources like maps, charts, and documents to understand historical events and geographical phenomena. They should also be able to present their own opinions on these topics.
  • Application: Students should be able to apply their knowledge and skills to analyze the impact of historical events and geographical phenomena on present-day life. This includes using timelines, maps, and data to interpret information and propose solutions to social issues. They should also be able to suggest and implement actions for resource conservation, environmental protection, and preservation of historical and cultural sites.

Curriculum Characteristics:

  • History and Geography are compulsory subjects starting in Grade 4.
  • The curriculum builds upon the foundation laid by Natural and Social Sciences subjects in earlier grades and prepares students for secondary-level History and Geography.
  • The curriculum covers basic knowledge and skills related to the geography and history of the local area, region, Vietnam, neighboring countries, and some world geography and history.
  • The content integrates with other subjects like Ethics, Vietnamese, and Experiential Activities.

This resource provides sample lesson plans for the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, specifically designed for the "Ket Noi Tri Thuc" program. Note that these are samples, and teachers may adapt them based on their school's chosen textbook.
