Vietnam Grade 4 Mathematics

The Mathematics curriculum for Grade 4 in Vietnam covers various topics, including numbers and operations, geometry, measurement, data analysis, and problem-solving.

Numbers and Operations: Students learn to count to 999, skip count by 10s and 100s, and use pictures and place value to solve addition problems. They also study fractions and operations, decimals and operations, and work with natural numbers.

Geometry: Grade 4 introduces acute and obtuse angles, coordinates, translations, and further explores shape properties.

Measurement: Students learn to measure length and perimeter in centimeters. They also work with concepts of area and perimeter. They may also engage in game playing with siblings and parents using games like Snakes & Ladders, Monopoly, Yahtzee, and Cluedo to develop math skills.

Data and Graphs: Students work with data and graphs.

Problem-Solving: Word problems are a key component of the curriculum, often involving tricks and complex wording. Students are expected to develop higher-order thinking skills, including critical thinking and analysis.
