Vietnam Grade 7 Curriculum - History and Geography
History and Geography are integral components of the Vietnamese curriculum. The Grade 7 curriculum covers Vietnamese history, geography, and civics. Specifically, the history portion delves into ancient Vietnam, including the development of early nation states like Van Lang and Au Lac, and the Red River Civilization. Geography studies focus on Vietnam's location, territories, and the cultural diversity of its 54 ethnic groups. Students also learn map skills and how to use information to create diagrams. Local education content for Grade 7 also includes history and culture, covering topics from folk tales and legends to historical sites and traditions.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) manages the education system and sets the curriculum. While History is a compulsory subject in earlier grades, it is no longer compulsory in high school as of April 2022. Students typically begin primary education at age six. Seventh grade corresponds to ages 12-13. |
