Zambia Grade 10 Religious Education Syllabus

This syllabus covers a three-year course, assuming five periods of Religious Education instruction per week. It is divided into two parts:

Grade 10 Topics:

• 10.2 Ministry and Death of John the Baptist: Focuses on speaking against sin and evil, John's message, right behavior, comparing John's work with Jesus', and responses to religious messages.
• 10.3 Baptism: Explores Zambian initiation practices, the meaning and procedure of Christian baptism, Jesus' baptism, and baptism in the New Testament.
• 10.4 Temptation: Examines temptation, testing, sin, ways temptations come, Jesus' temptations, and overcoming temptation in Christianity and other religions.
• 10.5 Jesus' Power over Disease and Nature: Covers miracles, why Jesus performed them, healings, Jesus' attitude to lepers, calming the storm, feeding the five thousand, and miracles in modern Christian faith and other religions.
• 10.6 Jesus' Power over Evil Spirits: Explores spirit possession in Zambian tradition, Jesus' healing of demon-possessed people, the two kingdoms, types of spirits, and Christian attitudes towards spirit possession.
• 10.7 The Kingdom of God: Discusses God's kingdom, its signs, why Jesus came, entering the kingdom, its effects, who it is for, the kingdom now, and God's kingdom and Christians today.
