Zambia Grade 6/Form 1 Curriculum - Chemistry (Secondary)

The Zambian education system underwent a significant change with the implementation of the 2023 Education Curriculum Framework. Primary school now ends at Grade 6, and secondary school begins at Grade 7. One of the key changes under this new framework is the restructuring of science education. Previously, Integrated Science encompassed various scientific disciplines. Under the 2023 framework, Integrated Science has been split into its constituent subjects: Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. Students now have the option to study Physics, Chemistry, or both. While the specific details of the Grade 6 Chemistry curriculum are not readily available, it is clear that Chemistry is now offered as a distinct subject starting at the secondary school level (Grade 7). This signifies a shift towards more specialized science education in Zambia.
