  • Peripherals: Students learn to connect computers to power cables and peripherals and perform basic computer operations like moving the cursor, clicking icons, and using menus.
  • Security and Viruses: Students understand the consequences of computer theft and the importance of antivirus software.
  • User Interfaces: Students interact with icons and menus in a graphical user interface (GUI).

3. Computers in Everyday Life:

  • Household Appliances: Students identify household appliances controlled by embedded microprocessors, such as washing machines, microwave ovens, and digital cameras.
  • Office Equipment: Students learn about common office equipment like computers, printers, fax machines, and scanners.
  • Industrial and Commercial Applications: Students explore the use of computers in industries like mining, manufacturing, and finance.
  • Computer-Based Learning: Students understand the role of computers in education and identify social and economic effects of computers.

4. Productivity Tools:

  • Word Processing: Students learn basic word processing skills, including typing, editing, formatting, spell-checking, printing, and saving files. They also learn to create simple graphics.
  • Spreadsheets: Students are introduced to spreadsheets, learning to enter and manipulate data, add formulas, and save and print spreadsheets.
  • Desktop Publishing: Students explore desktop publishing basics, creating simple publications using pre-designed layouts, fonts, graphics, and colors.

5. Networks:

  • Networking Basics: Students learn about networking computers and sharing resources.
  • The Internet: Students are introduced to the internet, web browsers, and search engines. They learn to access information online.
  • Email: Students learn the basics of email communication.

6. Multimedia Files:

  • Introduction to Multimedia: Students learn about different types of multimedia files, including graphics, video, and audio.
  • Creating Multimedia Presentations: Students create basic multimedia presentations incorporating visual and audio elements.
