Aims
The syllabus aims to:

- Promote good health and safety, appreciate senses of beauty and achievement, and provide entertainment at ceremonies.

- Communicate information, knowledge, and national ideals through displays.
Objectives
By the end of Grade 1, learners should be able to:
- Apply knowledge and skills appropriately in a variety of movement-related situations.
- Demonstrate basic concepts of gross and fine motor skills.
- Acquire and appreciate social skills related to the cultural values of Zimbabwean society.
- Exhibit musical and dance repertoire sourced from indigenous and other cultural sources.
- Observe the conventions of fair play, fun, and enjoyment in Mass Displays.
- Apply principles and rules of safety and responsibility related to themselves, others, equipment, and facilities.
- Identify physical activities which illustrate care and optimal health issues.
- Correlate talent and skill in Mass Displays with other study areas in the curriculum.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform basic Mass Displays skills.

Topics
The syllabus covers four main topics:
1. Gymnastics: Includes locomotion, balances, coordination, and formations.
2. Arena Choreography: Focuses on movement and rhythm, and choreography.
3. Music: Includes background and performing music.
4. Art: Includes patterns, colors, and shapes.
