Zimbabwe Lower 6 Mathematics Curriculum

The Zimbabwe Lower 6 Mathematics curriculum is part of the Advanced Level Mathematics syllabus offered by the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC). Mechanics

  • Forces and Motion: Forces and equilibrium, kinematics of motion in a straight line, Newton's laws of motion, and motion of a projectile.

Statistics

The Statistics component focuses on data analysis, probability, and statistical inference. Topics include:

  • Data Analysis and Probability: Representation of data, probability, and discrete random variables.
  • Distributions: Continuous distributions.

Assessment

The Lower 6 assessment typically involves examinations at the end of the year. Students are assessed on their knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of mathematical concepts. The examinations include questions of varying difficulty, allowing students of different abilities to demonstrate their achievements.
